November 16, 2020 – Richmond, VA – Sparkstone Capital Advisors, LLC (“Sparkstone”) is pleased to announce a major investment by LS Power Group (“LS Power”) in a portfolio of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects owned and operated by The Landfill Group, LLC (“The Landfill Group”). LS Power entered a partnership with The Landfill Group to jointly develop a portfolio of landfill gas-to-RNG projects throughout the United States. In addition, LS Power acquired an interest in a landfill gas-to-RNG project in Lawrence, Kansas operated by The Landfill Group. The total value of the investment is undisclosed. Sparkstone served as the exclusive financial advisor to The Landfill Group in this transaction.
The Landfill Group is an experienced RNG company that specializes in the landfill gas-to-energy (“LFGTE”) sector. The company has three divisions that focus on project development, operation & maintenance, and ownership; design and construction of landfill gas collection & control systems; and plant construction & equipment fabrication for biogas-to-energy projects. The Landfill Group has successfully operated in the biogas sector for almost three decades, making it among the most experienced companies in the industry. During this time, the company has developed, built, owned, and/or operated over 50 LFGTE projects across all end uses – RNG, power generation and direct use.
