September 12, 2025 – Richmond, VA – Sparkstone Capital Advisors, LLC (“Sparkstone”) is pleased to announce that it has served as the exclusive financial advisor to Lynx Renewable Energy Kansas, LLC (“Lynx”) in its sale of a scalable, derisked renewable natural gas (“RNG”) facility (the “Facility”) to Sagepoint Energy, LLC (“Sagepoint”, formerly Dynamic Renewables). The transaction closed in September of 2024.
Located near Wichita, Kansas, the Facility was commissioned in 2022 with a design capacity for 1,500 SCFM of inlet landfill gas (“LFG”). It currently has a processing rate of over 1,200 SCFM, equating to 800+ MMBTU/day. Its production is secured by long-term LFG supply contracts that run through February 2042.
The Facility was built to expand with the growth of the nearby Plumb Thicket landfill without needing major new investments. The landfill has accepted on average 520,000+ tons per year of waste from 2018-2023. It has 8.5 million tons of waste currently in place and has a permitted capacity of 26+ million tons with an estimated closure date of 2055.
Lynx was privately owned by a team of experienced LFG project developers and operators and private investors.
Sagepoint, an Ares Management portfolio company, specializes in waste-to-energy solutions, driving sustainability in the agricultural sector. The company has an integrated platform for development, financing, and operations of waste recovery systems that promote greener agricultural practices and environmental stewardship. The acquisition of Lynx marked Sagepoint’s entry to the LFG-to-RNG space.
